Toronto lays silent in the wee hours of the morning as it's graceful architecture is bathed in the ever changing pre-dawn light. The city streets are peppered with the remains of the night before and the hints of a new day which will soon unfold. These are the conditions in which I create the black and white architecture prints you see on this site. Casual conversations with the curious add a human touch to an otherwise solitary creative environment which I find best suited for photographing Toronto in a rarely seen, yet daily tranquil state. As the metropolis slowly comes to life I reluctantly make my exit from the downtown area knowing I will return and repeat this artistic cycle in the city I love.

The Reflections Series

While working on my Toronto architecture collection I have grown interested in the reflections created by window displays and architectural glass structures . An  interesting and artistic scene is created with combination of a building's glass, the item or items in the window and the reflection of the surrounding street. A black and white picture seems best suited to the mystery associated with this collection of these scenes I call "Reflections". Prints will be in edition of 25 . -AB-

Black and White Architectural Photography

There's something calming about architectural photography and I find it especially so when the pictures are done in black and white. I spend a lot of time searching for buildings that I feel will produce a creative photograph and suitable photo artwork that I would be proud of. Sometimes multiple visits are needed to capture the photographic art or vision that I'm trying to show through my fine art photography. Famous Canadian architecture in black and white is subject matter for my current photo art. These pictures can also be viewed in the main picture gallery  -AB-

Life On The Canal Gallery

I personally found this farming area relaxing and a great place for a photographer to find an endless supply of subjects to photograph. In this gallery you will find black and white landscape photography and documentary style photography related to the Holland Marsh in Ontario, Canada. I will add more images to this collection down the road but for now there are 31 B & W images in the gallery. -AB-

Photographing large buildings in a close urban area can present interesting challenges. On my Blog I discuss some of these challenges and how I get around them. I also post new black and white pictures that will eventually be added to the main gallery here on this site.
